“Revealing” Canon C300 Test Video

More C300 eye candy and praise Jon Yi has provided a fantastic “test” video from the new Canon EOS C300. His conclusion, “C300 = awesome”. There’s some great info about ISO performance and workflow. A worthwhile watch. There’s a little bit of language and “skin” in the video, so if you’re easily offended, don’t press ‘play’.

Canon EOS C300 = Awesome from Jonathan Yi on Vimeo.

From Jon Yi In early Fall 2011, I shot some footage with a pre-production model of the Canon EOS C300 for one week in NYC. I created an article and a video for Canon based on my experiences with the camera. The video is meant to poke fun at most camera test videos I’ve seen over the years. Canon, not thrilled with my sense of humor, does not credit or condone this video, but I think it shows a lot of the camera’s strengths. You can read my full article about the EOS C300 here:learn.usa.canon.com/resources/articles/2011/c300_for_cinematographers.shtml I believe that Canon made a beautiful camera that is sensible, reliable and portable in a way that I’ve always dreamed a camera could be. It prioritizes great skin tone and has higher ISO sensitivity than any other camera out there. I know there’s nothing I can say to change the minds of the RED fan club. For the rest of the skeptics, I think once you get your hands on it you’ll understand how great this camera really is. Please buy this camera in January and go film some good skin tones in the dark. You’ll love it. Thanks go out to all my friends for helping me with this. Visit Planet5D & Jon Yi for more on the video.

News image

Prodad Press Release
PRODAD’S NEW MERCALLI EASY VIDEO STABILIZER APP FOR WINDOWS® PUTS PROFESSIONAL GRADE VIDEO STABILIZATION IN THE HANDS OF CONSUMERS

Life Doesn’t Stand Still for the Camera; New App Stabilizes Shaky Videos Shot on Mobile Phones, Pocket Camcorders, Even DSLR Cameras

Northampton, UK, 29th November 2011, 2011 – proDAD, a world-class developer of digital video effects plug-ins and image optimization technologies for professional video editors and broadcast professionals as well as aspiring pros, today announced Mercalli Easy, a Windows app letting consumers easily fix shaky videos posting to YouTube, Facebook, etc. While some smart phones, pocket camcorders and DSLR cameras have image stabilization for video, it’s not effective in all situations. The result is many videos captured by these devices are shaky and consumers simply put up with excessive shake in their videos because they think there is no alternative.
Mercalli Easy puts an end to the common problem of shaky video by putting highly effective video stabilization into a simple drag & drop app for Windows that can quickly stabilize the video and perform some basic editing. The video is then ready to be shared via popular social media & video sharing sites, copied to mobile devices, or turned into a DVD.  It is not always possible to shoot video on a tri-pod, and some of the best video comes from shooting from a moving car, while on a boat, etc.  Mercalli Easy lets the user focus on capturing a great shot, knowing it can be stabilized later.
In addition to removing the shake from video, Mercalli Easy fixes another common, though less understood problem: Rolling-shutter distortion.  Video professionals know that rolling-shutter is a problem related to CMOS imaging sensors that are found in virtually every camera and camcorder today, and occurs almost anytime the camera is moved while shooting, or while shooting fast action.  Because of the way a CMOS sensor captures an image, scanning from the top of the sensor to the bottom, a moving camera or image will encounter skew or wobble distortion as the image has moved slightly during this scanning process.  Consumers only know the image looks wonky; though easily improved with Mercalli Easy.
Key Features of Mercalli Easy:
Quickly & easily removes shake from otherwise good video clips
Automatically corrects/improves rolling-shutter distortion, skew and wobble
Basic editing features – rotate video, click & drag trim editing for beginning and end of video clip
Based on the same great Mercalli video stabilization technology relied on by video professionals world-wide
“Effective video stabilization and image enhancement used to be only in the realm of the professional” said Andreas Huber, Managing Director of proDAD.  “We’ve seen the need for this technology at the consumer level also and created Mercalli Easy with this exact need in mind.  With Mercalli Easy, users can stabilize their videos, correct rolling shutter, and do basic editing based on the power of our professional technology, but without the complexity.”
Pricing and Availability:
Mercalli Easy is currently available for $14.95 on the Mercalli Easy website, http://www.mercallieasy.com.  proDAD offers a full line of professional & semi-professional digital video effects, video titling/trailer animation, and professional video stabilization products, offered as plug-ins for popular non-linear editing (NLE) applications.  Learn more at http://www.prodad.com.
About proDAD:

Nikon has just launched its new flagship i-TTL flashgun; the Nikon SB-910. Replacing the SB-900, the Nikon SB-910 features re-designed menus and controls, and offers three distinct illumination patterns, 17-200mm zoom coverage and a tilt-swivel head. The guide number of the flash is 34 at ISO 100/21° (in metres at the 35mm zoom position, using the Standard illumination pattern). The flash ships with a set of hard-type incandescent and fluorescent colour filters, and comes with an automatic filter detection feature on board. The recommended retail price of the Nikon SB-910 Speedlight is £449.99 / €522.00 / $549.95.
Nikon Press Release
Nikon SB-910: Master of Light

RRP: £449.99 / €522.00
Sales start date: 15th December 2011

London, UK, 30 November 2011: Nikon today introduces a brand-new flagship i-TTL Speedlight; the Nikon SB-910 that replaces the highly regarded SB-900.

Fast, versatile and powerful, with re-designed menus and controls, the SB-910 offers extensive opportunities for on-camera or wireless flash photography. A powerful tool for professionals who demand studio quality lighting, the new model combines enhanced operation with an extended zoom range of 17-200mm and three illumination patterns for total control over flash coverage.

“The SB-900 cemented its position as a class-leading flash”, says Zurab Kiknadze, Product Manager, Lenses, Accessories & Software, Nikon Europe. He goes on: “and now the new SB-910 is set to continue this legacy, taking operability to the next level with improved ergonomics and more intuitive control.”

Light Control
The SB-910 is a powerful portable light source that delivers precise flash exposures and seamless fill-flash performance—even in challenging lighting situations. Perfect for professionals seeking complete control over the quality of light, it offers Centre-weighted, Even and Standard illumination patterns to accommodate any shooting environment and can cover a zoom range of 17-200mm while maintaining an even light distribution. Bounce flash capability is provided through a head that can be tilted up to 90º, down to 7º and rotated horizontally through 180º to the right and to the left. The thermal protection system has been improved allowing more optimal heat detection and recycling time management.

Smooth Operator
The SB-910 boasts refined ergonomics and re-designed menus for more intuitive control, with the same reliability as its predecessor. Menus are clearer and the selector dial incorporates a groove so you can feel when you change settings. Illuminated buttons offer better visibility in the dark and the SB-910 includes hard cover (plastic) colour filters that are more durable and easier to attach.

Part of the acclaimed Nikon Creative Lighting System, the SB-910 is easily incorporated into multiple-flash lighting set-ups.

Major Features

·      Professional i-TTL (intelligent TTL) Speedlight: compatible with FX- and DX-format SLR cameras. Part of the Nikon Creative Lighting System, it offers total control over flash coverage.
·      Guide number: 34 (STD)/39 (CW)/31 (EVEN) (FX-format, ISO 100, m, at 35 mm)
Maximum guide number: 54.5 (CW, FX-format, ISO 100, m, at 135 mm)
·      Centre-weighted, Even and Standard illumination patterns: Centre-weighted mode concentrates illumination to the centre of the frame, useful when using a telephoto lens. Even mode diffuses light evenly across the frame, useful when taking group shots. Standard mode offers a standard balance of power and light distribution.
·      Multi-step auto zoom covers wide 17-200mm zoom range.
·      Refined ergonomics for intuitive operation. Boasts a large LCD screen, clear menu systems, conveniently placed controls and illuminated buttons that offer more comfortable operation in low light.

  • NG58 a 100 ISO e 105mm
  • ricarica completa in 3 secondi, velocizzabile tramite Power Pack opzionale
  • attacco PC sync
  • slitta flash in metallo

Apple iCam: A Modular Concept Camera That Uses an iPhone for Brains

The Apple iCam is a concept camera by Italian designer Antonio DeRosa that imagines a future where cameras are modular and powered by smartphones. Smartphones have already invaded the compact camera market in recent years, but their small lenses and sensors keep them from being seen as suitable alternatives to more advanced cameras. The iCam camera changes that by adding a large sensor and interchangeable lens system to the mix. Simply attach your iPhone 5 to the case and you’ll have yourself a mirrorless interchangeable lens camera with a huge LCD screen, fast processor, internet connectivity, and countless photo apps!

Reallusion Announces Key Updates To Big Lens App
Including Blur Edge Adjust and HDR function which automatically adjusts light, contrast, tones, colours and more to bring original details back into your photos.
Northampton, UK, November 29th 2011 — Reallusion announces updates to Big Lens app. Reallusion heard you loud and clear! Big Lens has been out for less than 2 months, and we have already received tons of feedback from users. Reallusion are always committed to hearing your concerns and improving our products as best we can, so we are pleased to announce the new free updates for Big Lens. (Version 1.0.1115.1)
Upgrades:
1. HDR+ – Let there be light!
Digital cameras do not have the dynamic range capturing capabilities that the human eye does, for this reason it is often difficult to faithfully capture colour and light depth as we see it in reality.
Big Lens now solves this challenge by including the High Dynamic Range (HDR) button for retaining graphic details that would otherwise be lost. The HDR function automatically adjusts light, contrast, tones, colours and more to bring original details back into your photos.
2. Blur Edge Adjust – No more squinting.
Users can now adjust their blur edges by simply moving the blur edge slider. Beautify images and create a more natural feel by sharpening and smoothing your focus edge with one easy slider.
3. Restore Last Session – Big Lens never forgets…
Big Lens now allows you to restore your last work session without having to open a saved project. Even if your Apple device turns off to save battery power or memory space, Big Lens will always keep a saved version of your last session and restore it upon restart. Never lose your work again with Big Lens.
4. Import High-res Images – Which pixel are you again?
No longer do you have to guess which pixel your friends are. With Big Lens, now you can work with higher resolution images imported straight from your onboard digital camera.
iPhone 3G users can import up to 2MP images and Big Lens will optimize the images to 960 x 720 for editing and sharing.
iPhone 3GS/iPad 1 users can import up to 10MP images, and Big Lens will optimize to 3 MP.
iPhone 4/4S/iPad 2 users can import up to 12MP images, and Big Lens will optimize to 8MP.

Innova Art Launches JetMaster Paper

News image
Innova Art has launched its new JetMaster paper for the fine art market. Designed for use with the existing JetMaster frame - a pre-cut, laminated self-adhesive board to which a paper or canvas print is pressed, then trimmed and folded to make a 3D gallery wrap print - the JetMaster paper has been specially developed to allow the print to stretch without cracking as the 3D frame is assembled. The paper will be available in A4 and A3 Plus sheet formats and a variety of rolls.
Innova Press Release
Innova puts JetMaster Paper in the frame!
Innova Art’s biggest success of the past 12 months has been the JetMaster display system.
A tough, lightweight and stylish gallery wrap that can be assembled in minutes; the winner of the much coveted Innovation Award at the 2011 UK Art & Framing Industry Awards.
The JetMaster frame comprises a pre-cut, laminated self-adhesive board to which a paper or canvas print is pressed, then trimmed and folded to make a 3D gallery wrap print.
Now, Innova Art is broadening the brand with the launch of the JetMaster paper, newly developed to enable perfect prints for the JetMaster system, time after time.
“As a supplier of premium digital media for the fine art market, we are experts in helping our customers create that ‘gallery’ look,” said Mike Ramos-Gonzalez, Innova Art MD. “The JetMaster paper takes the display system a step further: a carefully tailored solution that means JetMaster prints look even better, are even easier to produce – and can cost less too.”
The JetMaster paper has been specially developed to allow the print to stretch without cracking as the 3D frame is assembled. Its unique pliability produces perfect finished corners and the paper has the strength to withstand being peeled back and repositioned if necessary.
The JetMaster paper is available in two finishes, one Smooth the other Embossed to replicate the surface texture and appearance of canvas.
Innova Art is long renowned for the image quality of their media and the JetMaster paper is no exception.
“We have applied our knowledge supplying the top end of the art market and applied it to a product with a much wider industry application,” says Gonzalez. “The JetMaster paper has the look, feel and archival quality of traditional fine art products. It offers outstanding print quality yet it has all the flexibility that a JetMaster user is looking for and is much, much cheaper than many of the alternatives.”
The JetMaster display system has been an immediate hit in those busy production environments seeking innovation, quality and consistency at the lowest possible cost. The incorporation of the JetMaster paper range enhances those benefits still further. The paper will be available in A4 and A3 Plus sheet formats and a variety of rolls.
Available Now! Free On-Line Print Utility
To assist our customers in making the perfect JetMaster frame visit http://www.jetmaster-systems.com. We have created an On-Line Print Utility for all frame formats within the Jetmaster range. The print utility enables users to make a professional gallery wrap without the need for photoshop or other proprietory software.

High-speed laser camera: come realizzare foto 3D macro al volo

3D monster camera
