Nikon AF-S DX Micro NIKKOR 40mm f/2.8G

Nikon’s newest DX lens is the AF-S DX Micro NIKKOR 40mm f/2.8G.  It is capable of 1:1 reproduction with a minimum focusing distance of just 6.4 inches.
The DX-designation indicates that it is for Nikon’s APS-C cameras like the D7000 and D5100.  The 1.5x crop factor gives the lens a 60mm equivalent field of view.
The 40mm f/2.8G lens should be available in August at an initial retail price of $279.95.  Check availability on Amazon.com.
