Earth: our planet as seen from International Space Station

Earth | Time Lapse View from Space, Fly Over | NASA, ISS from Michael König on Vimeo.

The phrase that came to mind watching the videos that are in the final opening of the legendary film Blade Runner by Ridley Scott: "I've seen things you people can not imagine." Because the International Space Station images shot and edited in this video in stop motion by German filmmaker Michael König us to enjoy the incredible beauty of our planet from a perspective that few humans can enjoy. The photos were taken with a Nikon D3S Manning with the goals 17-35mm F2.8 and 14-24mm F2.8. The "spatial photographers" were Ron Garan, Satoshi Furukawa and teams of 28 and 29 expeditions aboard the International Space Station, from August to October 2011, orbiting at an altitude of about 350 km from the Earth's surface. Significant then the editing work of Michael König who has reworked every single image in order to be able to show at its best in high definition. Thanks to his efforts and the Aurora Borealis Astral are rich in detail as well as the temporal or the lights of big cities that are reflected on the clouds. Source | Daily Mail
